This implies a considerable <strong>reduction of time and costs<\/strong>necessary for the analysis and processing of images that cover a large amount of terrain, allowing for rapid and efficient decision-making.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-a22c6b9 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"a22c6b9\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-177491e\" data-id=\"177491e\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-441b1ed elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"441b1ed\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Input and model characteristics <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-534ae51 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"534ae51\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p id=\"bkmrk-el-modelo-para-la-se\">The LULC segmentation model uses VHR (Very High Resolution) optical images, seeking to rely on the finest details to differentiate between classes that are already very similar to each other, such as \"ploughs\", \"crops\" or \"pastures\". These different types of terrain are not only similar to each other, but there are also many varieties of soil included in each of them; this <strong>low interclass variance and high intraclass variance<\/strong> constitute one of the main challenges for this type of analysis.\u00a0<\/p><p>In SEDA a model based on <strong>Convolutional Neural Networks<\/strong> (CNN) to segment into 13 different classes, including those previously mentioned \"urban land\", \"water\", \"forest\" ... trained with combined images of different datasets of different areas of interest; LCLU models trained with very high resolution images are usually especially dependent on their location, sometimes requiring retraining for correct operation in areas with rough terrain.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-6c142e2 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"6c142e2\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-902d140\" data-id=\"902d140\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-985bf54 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"985bf54\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Model outputs <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-43d2f65 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"43d2f65\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>SEDA automatically processes the output mask of the model to achieve a smoother result in accordance with the defined requirements. Subsequently, the different areas identified are converted to <strong>shapefile format<\/strong> to facilitate export and use in other tools. We can see an example of a prediction in Figure 1, where regions with different land uses appear grouped under the same color with a certain opacity and a label indicating their corresponding class.
