The 11th National Congress on R&D in Defense and Security (DESEi+d 2024) took place from November 12 to 14, 2024, at the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos in Ja\u00e9n. This event, established as a benchmark in the field of R&D in Defense and Security in Spain, brings together key players in the sector, including the Armed Forces, universities, companies, academic centers, and research institutes, fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration among public and private entities.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Since its inception in 2013, the DESEi+d Congress has served as a vital platform for presenting and disseminating innovative research and technological developments in the civil domain. These efforts, utilizing advanced methodologies and promising outcomes, have demonstrated potential applications in national Defense and Security, thereby advancing the development of so-called Dual-Use Technologies, which serve both civilian and military purposes.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

In this edition, SEDA had a prominent role with two accepted contributions. The first, presented as a poster and titled <\/span>\"Few-Shot Learning Techniques for the Classification of Military Ships Using Satellite Images,\"<\/span><\/i>addressed the use case for the specific detection of military vessels. The second, delivered as an oral presentation under the title <\/span>\"Automatic Extraction of Infrastructure and Cartographic Elements through AI Applied to Aerial Images,\"<\/span><\/i>focused on the vectorization of buildings, roads, and land use.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/span>In addition to the contributions, SEDA participated in the R&D demonstrator hall with a stand showcasing the AMIGO module. The stand also featured outreach materials, including a poster, brochures, and an explanatory video. This space effectively communicated the capabilities and applications of the solutions developed, solidifying SEDA's position in the field of technological innovation applied to Defense and Security.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
