CERIS Workshop On Innovation For Maritime Situational Awareness and Security

The CERIS Workshop is an annual event organized by the Center for Security Studies and Research (CERIS), an institution of recognized prestige in the field of maritime security. Its main objective is to foster collaboration between researchers, academics, industry professionals and government representatives to address the growing challenges in maritime security. 

This Workshop plays a crucial role in strengthening maritime defense by bringing together experts from various disciplines, stimulating the generation of new ideas and solutions to maritime security challenges, providing a platform for key players to share knowledge, experiences and best practices and highlighting the risks and challenges facing maritime security, the congress contributes to increasing public awareness of this important issue. 

The interested audience included professionals, especially Coast Guards, but also innovators and decision makers in capabilities such as those related to rescue at sea, maritime border surveillance and other maritime safety and security functions. The workshop brought together updates and EU-funded projects of innovative European technologies in the field, from autonomous platforms to data fusion; presented experiences and opportunities for cooperative and integrated information management; and discussed how research results can be leveraged more efficiently.
